Chris Seale
Royal Oaks has a talented musician who recently was selected as one of the top 5 winners in an international song writing contest. Chris Seale, along with his wife Ramona and daughter Christina, live on Indian Wells Drive and moved here in 1995 from Baltimore. Their other daughter, Ashley, recently graduated from college in Indiana and now lives in Chicago, working as an RN .
Chris has always loved singing and playing the guitar and, for a brief time after college, tried the "poor man's pursuit" of a music career. However, he soon abandoned this quest and, for 25 years, his musical talent remained dormant. About a year ago, Chris felt called to start writing music again.
He auditioned at the headquarters for the Nashville Songwriters Association, playing and singing a song called Quiet Storm and, from their accepting that song, he decided to pursue another step. He entered The Great American Song Contest in Oregon, which had over 1700 entries from around the world and placed with musicians from England and Nepal. The song is titled Biloxi's Weeping and recalls the damage done to Biloxi after Katrina. He believed other areas besides New Orleans suffered just as much devastation and he wanted to call attention to them as well. You can log onto Broadjam.com to hear his music from this award winning song. Another song also listed on Broadjam.com, and is on their top 10 hits, is This Family Road (also listed under Christopher Seale). Read the lyrics to Biloxi' s Weeping.
In Chris's other life, he owns a home improvement and additions business, and writes music early in the morning. With Chris accomplishing all of this in only a year, his future in music looks very bright. Congratulations, Chris !
